Club History

The ELBO BMX Club was started way back in 2010 when two friends started at a local bike shop start-up in the old Billet Works.

East London Bicycle Organization is the brain child of two people looking to make the most of an opportunity and bring to life a council recognized dirt track area.

We are Walthamstow based, catering to schools, clubs and individuals regularly visiting lots of areas in North, East, South and West London.

At ELBO we enjoy riding our bikes. We like any size wheel as long as fun is on the table(top), at the same time ELBO looks to promote cycling and so to enjoy some of the content of this site really you need to get out and ride.

Please use the contact us page to get in touch if you need an idea of where to go riding. Also we use the website contact page to rally support in sports development in your community.
We can help you in your area with;

  • on a BMX Track
  • on site, such as a playground area

day trips
sports therapy

Legacy BMX Project; Launched 2012

Access Sport is proud to announce the launch of its BMX legacy project, with the support of the Mayor’s fund, British Cycling and the five Olympic host boroughs (Greenwich, Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest).

Over the next two years the project aims to build five new comminuty focused BMX clubs, with five new BMX tracks in the Olympic Boroughs. The aim of the project is to link in with the Olympic Velopark that will be inherited by the Lee Valley Regional Park to allow young people the opportunity to become involved with cycling in the Capital.

Here’s a quick snapshot of who’s who because we know it can be quite daunting when you start a new sport and go to a club where it seems like everyone already knows each other. We hope these photos will help you to put a name to a face and know who to look for at the club if you have questions – but don’t forget we’re a friendly bunch so you can speak to anyone and if they can’t help they’ll find someone that can!

We really need some volunteers to help fill out a new committee and all help should be directed via email please, if you can fill a role and help us out there’s lots of training available to those who do.

As you can see it’s a little slim right now…
